Hi there. I seem to have a piece of Pali scripture but I know nothing beyond that assumption. It seems to be made of a papyrus type of page pressed between two bits of wood. I can't identify the type of script but it doesn't look like it is Thai, so Burmese or Sinhalese?

can anyone please tell me anything more about it. I would really like to know what it says or what part of the canon it comes from. It seems to not have been treated very well, so can anyone recommend how I should treat it if it is indeed a piece of scripture?

It looks like Sinhalese. Beautiful! Where did you get it?

The Pali canon was first written on palm leaves in this way and it is still done out of tradition in Sri Lanka.

Hi there. It was given to me by a colleague who is a religious studies teacher here in england. As you can see, it seems to have been chopped in half; the sentences on the right-hand edge seem to be cut off in mid sentence and the wooden covers do seem that they were sawn through some time ago.
