I'm planning on getting a tattoo and would really appreciate it if someone would translate the Noble Eightfold Path into Pali for me.

1. Right View
2. Right Intention
3. Right Speech
4. Right Action
5. Right Livelihood
6. Right Effort
7. Right Mindfulness
8. Right Concentration

Or if you didn't want it to be that long, you could have the threefold summary written:

paññā
sīla
samādhi

Thanks Bodom!

Would you happen to know the Pali script version of the second one "Right Intention"?

Appreciate your help!

See:

There is no script for Pali, it is written in various language scripts. I would go with Devenagiri-Hindi. It looks pretty cool and similar to Brahmi.

oh, that would explain a lot. Would you happen to know how to accurately translate "right intention" to Devanāgarī? Thanks, David.

My Devanagiri is not that good, so I used a transliteration tool:

सम्म सन्कप्प

Oh, I believe that's wrong. I'm pretty sure the word is "sammā", what you've got there is "samma", which should be this: सम्मा

In either case I hope that fellow makes well sure that what he's getting tatooed on himself is correct.

Indeed :) Devanagari is tough... the "san" is wrong as well... on my computer the output you've got there is snakappa... the s (स) and the n (न) are combined. I'm not sure what it looks like to Windows users, but the problem is that n and k cannot combine... you need to use ṅ (ङ्), which would be the correct Pali anyway:

sammāsaṅkappa

सम्मासङ्कप्प

On my computer I see here the s (स) and the ṅ (ङ्) are separate, and the ṅ and the k (क्) combine (ङ्क) as one would expect.
