I think this is the right place to post this, seeing as it relates to Pali chanting. This is my first post on the site.
Been listening to some chanting by Ven. Thanissaro Bhikkhu.
I enjoy chanting, and Ven. Thanissaro's deep voice is very peaceful and meditative!
But I have a small Pali vocab. and understanding, although sometimes when I'm listening to chanting I will recognise a few words, get the general jist.
There's one section in the chanting (1:24 - 2: 26) I don't know what it is.
After a lot of googling and figuring stuff out this what I've got:
0:00 - 1-23
Homage & Refuges
1: 23 - 1:24
SACCAKIRIYA GATHA
NATTHI ME SARANAM ANNAM
BUDDHO ME SARANAM VARAM
ETENA SACCAVAJJENA
SOTTHI TE HOTU SABBADA
For me there is no other refuge
The Buddho truly is my refuge
By the speaking of this truth
Ever may you be in safety!
NATTHI ME SARANAM ANNAM
DHAMMO ME SARANAM VARAM
ETENA SACCAVAJJENA
SOTTHI TE HOTU SABBADA
For me there is no other refuge
The Dhamma truly is my refuge
By the speaking of this truth
Ever may you be in safety!
NATTHI ME SARANAM ANNAM
SANGHO ME SARANAM VARAM
ETENA SACCAVAJJENA
SOTTHI TE HOTU SABBADA
For me there is no other refuge
The Sangha truly is my refuge
By the speaking of this truth
Ever may you be in safety!
