For all the pali scholars out there.........Is it possible that parimukham either as an idiom or literally could have a temporal aspect to it?
Thanks

Hello legolas,
My teacher Patrick Kearney discusses Parmukham as 'an idiom' in this blog post:

No, it's quite straightforward:

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering, since parimukham is often explained as an idiom whether the idiom could have a temporal aspect. Since my practice and many other peoples practice does not use the nose as a focus point in anappana - the instruction to concentrate on the nose seems odd.
Since the Anappana instructions seem to have temporal theme to them, I just woundered if parimukham may fit in with this.
