Hi Dan, this is actually something you can find out for yourself with the right resources. You can find one version of the Pali text at
http://studies.worldtipitaka.org/tipitaka/9M/2/2.3. I don't have Bhikkhu Bodhi's translation, so I was looking at
http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/mn/mn.013.than.html. Just looking at patterns of repetition and section breaks, the Pali terms that I believe correspond to Thanissaro's "subduing of desire-passion" and "abandoning of desire-passion" (for sensuality, form, etc.) are "chandarāgavinayo chandarāgappahānaṃ". Taking a look at an online Pali dictionary at
http://dsal.uchicago.edu/dictionaries/pali/, you can find out that "chanda-rāga" is a compound meaning "exciting desire" (under entry "chanda"), "vinaya" means "driving out, abolishing destruction, removal", and "pahāna" means "giving up, leaving, abandoning, rejection". Please check this further for yourself, as I don't personally know any Pali!
