Hey
Is there any historical evidence for Lord Buddha outside of the pali canon and Ashoka's Edicts? Is there any record of him in other religions, for example the pali canon has a record of Mahavira, so do any of tha jain texts contain any reference to Lord Buddha, or even hindu texts?
Any info would be appreciated

understanding it has the nature of a mirage,
cutting off Māra’s flower-tipped arrows,
one should go beyond the King of Death’s sight.”

Re: Historical Buddha
there are jain and hindu material that talk about buddhists, and some of the famous students of the buddha, im not sure about the buddha himself though.
