Recently I bought a book someone here mentioned called Buddhist Saints in India. It wasn't what I was hoping for..

Does anyone know of accounts of Buddhism after the tipitaka which speak of saints? As long as it seems historical, (i guess there are zen legends?..

This book from Bhikkhuni Sobhana's list looks right:
Taranatha. Taranatha’s History of Buddhism in India.

Hello altar,

Reviving your old thread ....

What was the name of the author of the book you mention above?

There is this one - Buddhist Saints in India: A Study in Buddhist Values and Orientations, by Ray, A. Reginald, New York: Oxford University Press. 1994 - which has been reviewed by John Schroeder, of St. Mary's College of Maryland in Philosophy East and West, Volume 49, Number 2
(April 1999) pp. 235-237. Copyright by University of Hawaii Press
