Monk Hygiene?

Postby Mkoll » Tue Sep 10, 2013 5:23 pm

Friends,

Just curious, how often do monks bathe and brush their teeth?

I'm guessing that most must have to shave every day because I don't see monks with hair or beards.

Thank you.

Most monks brush their teeth and bathe and shave every day or perhaps not every day but nearly every day. Billions of lifetimes before, hygiene. This life hygiene. Billions in the future, hygiene. Brushing, cleaning, trimming, cutting, shaving. With understanding or without understanding? Driving, building, asking, thinking, preparing food, walking... with understanding or without understanding? Just more samsara, or going beyond?

Those are my questions.
