My idea thus far has been a meditation-acclimatisation programme, whereby I intensify my efforts whilst living at home, then I leave for Bodhinyanarama in Wellington on April 10th, it's Thai Forest tradition, so there's good practice environment, but it's not too heavy going - It should allow me time to adapt to the monastic routine a bit more than if I had left straight from home to Sri Lanka.

I'm sure that the whole thing will go all-right. If you have any difficulties while you are at home, you don't have to worry about them. In a monastic environment both the precepts and the regular meditation are actually much easier to maintain. Or at least this was my experience; and this is one of the reasons why I plan to ordain too.

May you attain nibbana. I am from Sri lanka and you have chosen your teachers well. I am reminded of a danish monk in the jungles of Mahiyangana Ven Amathasiri who would be inspiring to meet. He has lived in the jungles there over 20years. If all else fails just keep track of lobha dosa moha in your own mind and keep batting away! If you meet Ven dhammajiva give him my (my name is Matheesha) regards!

No I haven't. I met Ven dhammajiva when he visited UK. Is this venerable from Nissaranawanaya?

No he lives by himself. Lived in the Laggala area for many years and now in 'tanna' Balangoda. Recently he came to belihuloya aranya for just a few days and went back. A very senior and much respected monk among the forest tradition.

I too am "plotting" my getaway, targeting within 2 years although my leaving-home path would probably take me to Thailand and the UK before hitting India or Sri Lanka.
