Although the Pa-Auk system may be used as a convenient
term to refer to the teachings of the Venerable Pa-Auk Tawya
Sayadaw, there is no such thing. The Venerable Pa-Auk
Tawya Sayadaw’s system of instruction is by no means ‘his’.
It is borne out by, drawn directly and unadulterated from, and
in strict accordance with, the authoritative texts of the Theravāda
tradition:
2 the ancient Theravāda Canon, Commentaries
and Sub-Commentaries: most notably the ancient commentary
and meditation manual, the Visuddhi Magga.
I would like to invite comments and personal experiences from forum members in regards to this lineage of practice.
Does this system of practice diverge from the Sutta and commentaries at any point? Any personal experiences from retreat attendees ? The proposed method of practice is quite lofty - 1st to 4th Jhana, purifications and insight knowledges to ultimate materiality/mentality (5 khandhas) to Nibanna....
