over the past few months i have been attending councelling and Narcotics Anonymous as part of my recovery for drug addiction .
Studying the Dhamma and meditating have become a regular part of my daily life.
i have become aware recently of Buddhist orientated groups that help people with keeping the 5th Precept and aiding people struggling with addictions in their recovery. these groups are based on mindfullness and metta as taught by the Buddha
as i was unaware of these facilities i am just posting the information here for the benifit of people who may be seeking an alternative to 'traditional'
recovery methods and who maay be uncomfortable with certain aspects of themhttp://www.5th-precept.org/http://www.hungryghostretreats.org/index.htmlhttp://www.buddhistrecovery.org/
Aflame with the fire of passion, the fire of aversion, the fire of delusion.
Aflame, with birth, aging & death, with sorrows, lamentations, pains, distresses, & despairs ......
