The only effective way I have found out to do it is to constantly remind myself why I need to be mindful.

I hear ya, if I could only remember to remind myself of why I need to be mindful, I'd be back on track! Well, half-joking, anyway. I remember to practice mindfulness fairly often, compared to a year ago, say.....so I'd say it's working, slowly, but still.....
