World Buddhist Conference (WBC) 2012

Post by plwk »

Three leading Buddhist organizations, Buddhist Gem Fellowship, Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia and Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, supported by eight other Buddhist organizations, will be organizing the World Buddhist Conference (WBC) from November 3-4, 2012 at the Istana Hotel, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of the conference is "Transcending Negative Emotions".
The two-day Conference provides particpants a unique opportunity to learn from world renown Buddhist teachers and leading psychologists and psychiatrists about how one can develop true happiness and well-being in our everyday lives. It allows for one to experience the Buddha's teachings as a living philosophy that is contemporary and relevant in this modern world.

Sigh... I never thought this would happen here...

From the Vajrayana Buddhist Council of Malaysia Facebook site here
We are upset and shocked that due to political pressure - the video of HHDL's interview will NOT be showed in this conference (as it was promised and publicized in all major newspapers). Any suggestion on our next step? Please share your views here. Thank you.

I recall a near similar recent fiasco in South Korea not too long ago this year ...
