Dhamma talk download links

Postby Jechbi » Sat Mar 07, 2009 7:22 pm

Could we share links to sites where good Dhamma talks can be downloaded for MP3 players? If there's another thread on this already, I missed it.

I like this one sometimes.

What are your favorites? :thanks:

Some excellent talks here from the Thai Forest Tradition

http://www.dhammatalks.org.uk/

I would recomend Ajahn Sumedho, particually the talks

"right view"
"how to use convention"
"Welcome to the Deathless of Real"
"Mindfulness, the path to the deathless"

Jechbi,

An excellent suggestion!

My favorites:
http://zencast.org/ and especially http://www.audiodharma.org/index.html. There is a great deal of duplication between them, but there are differences and the differences can be very worthwhile. Gil Fronsdal is certainly the primary speaker, but I also highly recommend any of Andrea Fella's talks as well.

Many short talks by Thanissaro Bhikkhu here, with very frequent updates:

http://www.dhammatalks.org/
"The serene and peaceful mind is the true epitome of human achievement."-- Ajahn Chah, Living Dhamma

"To reach beyond fear and danger we must sharpen and widen our vision. We have to pierce through the deceptions that lull us into a comfortable complacency, to take a straight look down into the depths of our existence, without turning away uneasily or running after distractions." -- Bhikkhu Bodhi

Just found this free audio of the Dhammapada: http://librivox.org/the-dhammapada-tran ... x-mueller/

(also, off-topic, there's this if anyone's interested in Nagarjuna.)

If this link is included above i apologize for the echo. The site a goldmine if you like J. Goldstein's style of presentation....

Joseph Goldstein's Dharma Talks

:namaste:
"As Buddhists, we should aim to develop relationships that are not predominated by grasping and clinging. Our relationships should be characterised by the brahmaviharas of metta (loving kindness), mudita (sympathetic joy), karuna (compassion), and upekkha (equanimity)."

It's already been mentioned, but by far the largest selection in one spot (that I've seen) is:
