I suspect it's the blurry orange things that are allegedly devas?

That's what I think they are...you can vaguely see the details of a "being"...however, they look strangely Thai!!

Indeed !

Or may be the otherway around. The Thai has their Buddhist art based on vision such this.
Maybe the Devas came down for a visit.

That's what I think too. It actually increases the believability of these pics that they were taken in Sri Lanka and the devas 'look Thai'. That's probably what they (devas) look like!

I can see the photo now and the devas look like pasted on cutouts. It looks really fake to me. Sorry.

Just as as aside, the lights on the stupa remind me of Xmas fairy lights !

Bhikkhus, if you develop and make much this one thing,
it invariably leads to weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction.
What is it? It is recollecting the Enlightened One.
If this single thing is recollected and made much,
it invariably leads to weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction.

If the devas wanted to be known, they would be. If they did not want to be known, it would not be difficult to remove themselves from your photographs.

My dad used to be a professional photographer (back when there was no digital cameras, it was more of a profession) and he's told me before that people who use these images as proof as ghosts or spirits don't understand that it's just how photography works... It's not spirits or ghosts or devas...

i asked the place situated because i couldn't see the strange light as the tittle "devas pictures in Sri Lanka"

if u can searching at google, may be u can find so many strange light as devas appearances. unfortunately i never searching abt that at google. i have been seen the picture of Somavati Stupa, there are many strange light when they do ceremony of Buddha Jayanti, so many reporter also the people make that photos, before i have that picture, but now i lost it.

in this picture i couldn't see such light as devas appearance, who can help me to explain it?

mettacittena,

As for the videos and things of rays of light and Somawathi Stupa, it looks to me like heat lightning.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_lightning

Maybe it's all devas and things - quite frankly I just don't know. I come from a culture where it's very easy for people to manipulate photos and video, so many westerners end up being skeptical when they see things like this.

http://weirdnewsfiles.com/tag/photoshop-hoax/

Whether this photo is real or not has no impact on whether devas exist or not. It was asked where this stupa was, so I dug it up. It just seems strange to me that with 2,000,000 people in a town, many of which were foreigners on a pilgrimage, no one else would have gotten a picture of it. On the other hand, it could be 100% percent real.

really?
then at Somavati Stupa it is sun-light only, for western views. but for srilankan they fully believed it is Deva's appearances.

its ok, no problem for me, but in this picture i couldn't see the deva's light. maybe my computer cannot working properly.
thank u for ur explainations.

agreed.
but sometimes devas also can appear, which can appear at picture after they make that picture, in that same time they couldn't see, only after the incident from photos print-out.

Ven Seelawimala of Sacramento reported seeing the flashing lights at the Somawathi stupa himself recently

1) "sheet" lightning In summer we see it all the time over our local meadows. Including the sewage works.
2) flash photography and/or a faulty camera...

Personally I find something faintly chilling about the sheep like response of those observing this " phenomenon"...

You can clearly see at 0:45 that he's screwing around with the camera? At that time you can see that it's actually daylight.

I'm not saying there are no phenomenon, but videos show nothing.
