but from the pali canon point of view, there is a difference between men and women.
"Women, Ananda, are hot-tempered; women, Ananda, are jealous;
women, Ananda, are envious; women, Ananda, are stupid."
Now you might say the Buddha didn't say that, but it's in the canon anyway.
Now give the context.

I'm pretty sure this is not even in the Canon to begin with.

I really can't believe some of the bigoted and ignorant things I am seeing on this thread. It's actually astounding.

He was speaking to a man.

If speaking to a woman, he would have known what to say to her.

In that context... ;)

The indications are Anna that when a male views hetero porn there is of course sexual arousal, but that seems strongly connected with having power...i.e. he can view them when he wants.... he is controlling the person filmed or photographed. He sees her, but he is hidden from her. She is therefore subservient.

Isn't viewing pornography simply a particular form of craving?
Seems to me that the power resides with the pornography rather than in the one viewing it.

How can pornography be craving ? Pornography is simply images. The craving is a result of projection onto the images. (That craving can become addictive, but that is a different issue.) Imagining yourself interacting with the imagery. Including the projection of subservience .
Unlike real life the person filmed or photographed has no choice. She cannot reject or hide or walk away. She is captured and vulnerable to the gaze of the viewer.

Just to remove any doubt. Pornography itself is not craving. The viewing of pornography is based on craving.

The person filmed or photographed of course, at any rate in most cases, has the choice of whether to be photographed or not.

Not everything must be inside the context. As we open up our mind and see things, there's much answer than inside the sutta. If were to record what the Buddha said, in books. It would filled up the whole library. The Tripitaka is just 47volumes. I am saying that Tripitaka describe in things which is more to the doctrine of the Buddha, guides you on the journey. Others like the kammic effect and so, is not all compound inside the suttas.
So in other words, you have no evidence. This is just coming from you and, from what I gather from above quote, you think its something the Buddha would have taught. Doesnt wash sorry. If your going to say something as ridiculous as you have done, you need to provide a more firm argument.

Wouldnt this apply to gay porn as well?

Btw´, if I may a small sideremark.

Yesterday, 23 year old Cora died in Germany after her 6 th plastic surgery to get bigger silicone implantates.

She was wellknown as an Ex Big Brother "inmate".

She worked in the porn industry...

During the operation, her heart stopped beating and her brain was without oxygen for 15 minutes.

After reanimation she stayed comatose, due to brain damage. Over the past days she had fevers and epileptic seizures.

I can't help but feel compassion for her, who is-was- a curious mix of active victim of the porn industry.

A husband is mourning her, saying, he found her beautiful just the way she was... but she felt she needed more.

Ok, I thought a distinction was being made with use of the word "hetero"
