Proper Sangha to donate?

Postby nobody12345 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:08 am

I am looking for the proper Sangha to donate on regular basis.
And it doesn't have to be the one that I can physically attend (I live in Los Angeles and deeply disappointed by the Sanghas that I attended so far).
The last donation I made was for the Abhayagiri in Northern California and that was money well spent.
(I have confidence in the Thai Forest tradition that they are very serious)
I just want to donate to the Sangha which is absolutely dead serious about practicing the genuine Dhamma.
Again, location doesn't matter since I probably cannot visit there anyway.
Recommend me the Sangha that has your confidence that they are dead serious about practicing genuine Dhamma.
Metta.

Amaravati is an option. You can donate online on their site

http://www.amaravati.org/abmnew/index.p ... donate/C24

Although I must note that using the term "Best Sangha" is not very apropriate as there are numerous different groups who are dead serious about the dhamma. Anyway, I suspect you didn't use the term in the way I'm criticising.

Be well :)
And the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus, saying: "Behold now, bhikkhus, I exhort you: All compounded things are subject to vanish. Strive with earnestness!"

I second Amaravati, however any Thai Forest Tradition is very serious in terms of Dhamma from my Experience

However I am sure there are many other good traditions out there you can donate to

Thank you for the suggestion on both accounts (Amaravati and the term 'Best Sangha').
Yes, came to think of it, 'Best Sangha' seemed to be not so skillful way of putting it.
So I have changed the title to 'Proper Sangha'.
Thank you for the both accounts!

Yeah, I have been thinking as long as it's Thai Forest Tradition, it would be a good cause.

You could always make enquiries to the ordained sangha who contribute to Dhamma Wheel as to whether and how you could support them.

Which Sangha that is?
Where can I get more information on it?
