Ex-Band members who become Government Ministers?

Postby cooran » Sat Mar 14, 2009 7:18 am

Hello all,

I was wondering, after seeing Peter Garrett leading the band Midnight Oil at a big fundraising concert for Australia's bushfire victims .... how many countries are there where ex-band members have become part of the ruling government of their country?

Peter Garrett is the Australian Environment Minister in the Government formed by Kevin Rudd.

Has this happened anywhere else?

No pop hits that I recall but I think he composed some music for at least one movie soundtrack.
