The search engine

Whenever I try to use the search engine on Dhammawheel I find there is a poverty of results returned compared to a quick site:http://www.dhammawheel.com/ search on google. I just searched for 'munindo' and dhammawheel's own search engine gave me 1 hit. Google gave me 81. Granted, sometimes there are double hits but none so far on the first two pages of hits.

What's wrong with Dhammawheel's search engine? I don't really like using google to search forums with, it does not provide the same advanced criteria tailored to forums that most specialised engines do. Given that the forum uses phpbb software there should be several options for choice of search backend and probably also some plugins available to improve on this as well. Something worth looking into maybe?

Yes, I've suspected there's something not 100% right about it, though I've never been able to work out specifically what it's been doing wrong because the search does work... it just seems though as if there should be more entries there, but I can't put my finger on it.

Back here behind the control panels, there's two different search/index methods available - fulltext mysql, and fulltext native. We've tried both and the former is the better of the two both in terms of search results, size of database, and reliability. However, I don't see any configurability options associated with it though - do you happen to know anything about Fulltext MySQL config on phpBB3?

UPDATE: Oh wait... I think I've figured it out. It's case sensitive. Pretty lame, yes, but if you know, you can work around it (so thanks for helping me know!)
