Friends familiar
the kiss of breath in nostril
the ache in the knee.

Great Crested Grebe chick
as light upon the water
as a baby's breath.

My mind was too fraught
all I could do usefully
was sweep the kuti.

The olives flowers
will return to winter's green
then flower again.

Down the garden path:
fruitless, yet flowers bloom...
Weed the primroses.
"There is, headman, dhammasamādhi. If you were to obtain cittasamādhi in that, you might abandon this state of perplexity. And what, headman, is dhammasamādhi?
[kammapatha & brahmavihara, & a method of arousing gladness]"

After a long drought
the very dust and pavements
smell like sweet incense.

Through the pouring rain
their voices mingling wetly
come the shapes of geese

The following is probably not a Haiku, but if I may, I would like to share a poem that I wrote. If it does not belong in accordance with this thread please feel free to delete it.
END
This is the end of the day
nothing more to think
nothing more to do
life is dead
Death is born.
The dream's over
but reality is not found
Incessant
Infinity ceases
and rises again.
Without body
It ascends,
Without hope
The Silence
Without feature
The Freedom
Without time, without dimension,
Without form
Existence.
The mold is broken
The vessel destroyed
The mind awakens.

-Samāhitam cittam yathābhutam pajānāti.
समाहितं चित्तं यथाभूतं पजानाती |
A concentrated mind sees things as they really are.
-Ujuko nāma so maggo, abhayā nāma sā disā.
उजुको नाम सो माग्गो, अभया नाम सा दिसा |
'Straight' is this path, fearlessness is its way.
