  • "And how is it, bhikkhus, that by protecting oneself one protects others? By the pursuit, development, and cultivation of the four establishments of mindfulness. It is in such a way that by protecting oneself one protects others.

"And how is it, bhikkhus, that by protecting others one protects oneself? By patience, harmlessness, goodwill, and sympathy. It is in such a way that by protecting others one protects oneself.

Yeah I saw some of those and when I cross referenced some online resources I couldn't get much on the Pali reverse to English. When I do this I get a better understanding on context and usage.

For example nīlalohita is basically saying blue-red in English, quite interesting. Pāṭala and puppavisesa can not be found. I think puppa might be alternately spelled puppHa, and I've found that, but no visesa.

So my next question is does anybody find English translations for these three words? And, does anybody have experience hearing or using this word (violet) in Pali?

pāṭala

nīlalohita

puppavisesa

Perhaps pink?

But pink is certainly different from violet.
