Pali word a day

Post by maverick »

Dose any one know any site where I can subscribe to get email each day to learn new Pali word ?
From an inconstruable beginning comes transmigration. A beginning point is not evident, though beings hindered by ignorance and fettered by craving are transmigrating & wandering on. Long have you thus experienced stress, enough to be RELEASED.

The path is not about becoming a better person — it is about putting an end to becoming

EDIT: doesn't come through as an email but as a status update.
“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”
- Cormac McCarthy, The Road

Learn this from the waters:
in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

Maybe you could find someone who wants to do this too....you could alternate every other day sending emails containing a definition of a Pali word (do remember to include a couple of examples of it being used) to each other.
When I studied education at university they stressed how being active is conducive to learning and how being passive is not. By passively waiting for a machine to send you a word and a definition is fine but it leaves you inactive and at a disadvantage in learning. By alternating days with someone it forces you to at least every other day to actively go find Pali word and to go find its defintion and to create an email land send it....you are active and thus more likely to retain the information.
