Dear all
It was two weeks ago today that Dhamma Wheel came into existence. From its inception 14 days ago, we now have in excess of 1,500 posts in over 200 topics by 100 members. The rapid growth of Dhamma Wheel is indicative of the interest in a discussion forum devoted to the Theravada.
On behalf of our members, I would like to thank TheDhamma, Retrofuturist, and Ajahn Dhammanando who were all instrumental in the Dhamma Wheel's formation. Without them, the Dhamma Wheel would not have been created.
I would also like to thank, you, our members. Many of you we know personally through other Buddhist discussion boards who have decided to join us in this little corner of samsara to discuss and discover the Dhamma. Some of you are new to all of us and may have heard about us through google searches or word of mouth. Thank you for joining us!
It is my contention that a discussion board owes many of its successes and few of its failures to its members, not its administrators.
Thank you for your patronage, your support and your contributions.
May we never lose sight of why we are here.
Through our efforts, may all beings be happy.
Ben
THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!

Re: THANK YOU!
Dhammanando mentioned that I was the 100th member to sign up. I think that entitles me to the first slice of cake.
But seriously, it's a nicely crafted forum, you've all done a great job.

Ben -- All I could to when I saw that cake was to wonder when the speeches would let up so we could chow down.
More seriously, thanks for a tasty site to all who made and make it possible.

Adding my thanks.
This is just the beginning ...
This is just the beginning ...
Rain soddens what is kept wrapped up,
But never soddens what is open;
Uncover, then, what is concealed,
Lest it be soddened by the rain.

Re: THANK YOU!
And "Thank you" right back at you for providing a second purely Buddhist forum where I feel welcome ... I may not understand much of it and I may not post very often but I appreciate it.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …

He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

Re: THANK YOU!
This is why I tend to stay in the kitchen making things keeping an ear open to the debates going on in the other room .... I'm happier that way.

May all sentient beings find release from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May we all soon find and enjoy a piece of our favorite cake.
