Panditarama in Lumbini, some info?

Post by upekkha »

Hey there,

I have been told that the resident teacher at the Panditarama centre in Lumbini is highly realized and knowledgeable, and have gotten a recommendation to go there for retreat (3 months). I have listened to several talks of his archived by dharmaseed (http://www.dharmaseed.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and I was very impressed indeed.

Does anyone have some experience with this centre in regards to health issues, living conditions, and anything else?

I would highly appreciate some information and advice from someone who has been there.

Cheers!

Here is their website:

It looks like a great place to study and meditate at. I have not been to this temple, but I have been to Lumbini and thought it was a wonderful place. It sounds like a good place to do a retreat, in my opinion.

In terms of weather, very hot right now. It goes down to being just hot in a few months with high humidity. The best temperatures are between Nov. to March.

The people are very nice. Many of the Nepali people around there are Buddhist. Many speak English, but not all.

Hello upekkha, all,

If you are looking for weather information on the internet, look for Bhairahawa rather than Lumbini:

This is the official website of the Government of Nepal Meteorological Forecasting Division:
