Buddhist Calendar

Postby Alobha » Tue Feb 14, 2012 10:10 pm

Everyone who still misses a calendar or would like a fancy Buddhist one: The Forest-Sangha Calendar contains verses from the dhammapada and is useful for observing uposatha days.

I really like this month's verse:

As rain cannot penetrate
a well-made roof,
so the passions cannot enter a well-trained heart.
Dhp. v.14

Best wishes,
Alobha :buddha1:

Thanks Alobha,

Bhikkhu Pesala also produces a calendar, available here.
kind regards,

Ben
Learn this from the waters:
in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

Taṃ nadīhi vijānātha:
sobbhesu padaresu ca,
saṇantā yanti kusobbhā,
tuṇhīyanti mahodadhī.
