Hello!

Introduce yourself to others at Dhamma Wheel.

Hello!

Postby LonesomeYogurt » Thu Feb 23, 2012 4:34 pm

Man I couldn't think of a snappy title.

I'm from a small town in America, having practiced the Dhamma for about a year now. There are very few temples or practitioners at all around here so the internet, combined with some retreats and books, has mainly constituted my practice. I'm looking to learn more and discuss!

Thanks
Gain and loss, status and disgrace,
censure and praise, pleasure and pain:
these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.

Knowing this, the wise person, mindful,
ponders these changing conditions.
Desirable things don’t charm the mind,
undesirable ones bring no resistance.

His welcoming and rebelling are scattered,
gone to their end,
do not exist.

Hi LonesomeYogurt and welcome to Dhamma Wheel!
...he wondered whether there was any love between human beings that did not rest upon some sort of self-delusion.

Welcome to Dhamma Wheel LonesomeYogurt!
:hello:
All the world is on fire, All the world is burning, All the world is ablaze, All the world is quaking. That which does not quake or blaze, That to which worldlings do not resort, Where there is no place for Mara:That is where my mind delights. (SN 5.7)

By degrees, little by little,
from moment to moment,
the wise purify themselves,
as a smith purifies silver.
