Hey everyone

Introduce yourself to others at Dhamma Wheel.

Hey everyone

Postby Perry » Thu May 14, 2009 5:41 pm

Hello there!

I'm Perry, I'm only 18 (nearly 19! :P) and I've been studying Buddhism since last September. I'm leaning more to the Theravadin tradition but I'm in no rush to call myself anything other than a simple Buddhist for the near future.

I have always been interested in Buddhism, but it wasn't until I read Ven. Dhammika's fantastic "Good Question Good Answer" back in September that I became serious about it.

Unfortunately I know nobody in person who is a Buddhist, so therefore 100% of my Buddhist studies have been via the internet and books. Hopefully this will change next week as I have a session with a local Buddhist monk.

Dhamma Wheel looks great, so hopefully I continue to contribute here.

Thankyou.

Hello Perry, I'm from the UK too. Welcome!

I'm not a Theravadin I'm a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner. Although I don't post very often, I really appreciate being able to come here to read some of the many informative threads and improve my knowledge of Theravada.
Enjoy!

Kind wishes,

Dazzle

Greetings Perry,

Welcome to Dhamma Wheel!

Good Question Good Answer was also a very important text for me, back in the day.

Metta,
Retro. :)
If you have asked me of the origination of unease, then I shall explain it to you in accordance with my understanding:
Whatever various forms of unease there are in the world, They originate founded in encumbering accumulation. (Pārāyanavagga)

'We should not congratulate someone on the success of their misdeeds, but on the contrary should endeavour to advise him or her to lead a more skilful and wholesome life. If such advice is ignored then we can only give up and let go' - Phra Panyapatipo

If you're not already aware of it, you may be interested in Ven. Dhammika's blog. http://sdhammika.blogspot.com, a brilliant read!

Thanks again everyone!
