Please congratulate Robertk - DW's new moderator!

Post by Ben »

Dear all,

I have pleasure in announcing that Robertk has been made a moderator here at Dhamma Wheel for our Classical Mahavihara Forum.
Robertk has an extensive knowledge of the Tipitaka (inc. the Abhidhamma), the ancient commentarial literature and Pali. Robert has been a long-standing member of the Dhamma Study Group in Bangkok and student of Sujin Boriharnwanaket. I am sure many of you are familiar with Robert's contributions here.
When Robertk is not here, he can be found as administrator of his own forum Abhidhamma Vipassana
Its great to have you on-board, Robert!
with metta,

Ben

Good Choice Ben!

:guns:
May your moderatorship be as smooth as can be Robert!

Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

Welcome Robert!

Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Thanks all!
I will try to keep my new powers as mod within the classical forum, and please be patient if I am slow to look in from time to time. I live in Bangkok but travel often: next month to Sri lanka.

Robert is one of those special people that you tend to feel really lucky to know. Why? Because not only is Robert's extensive knowledge of the Dhamma very impressive, his passion is inspirational, and his good natured and kind character make him one of a kind. The world needs more people like Robert, imo. He really is a special kind of person (sorry to put you on the spot like that!)

Congratulations.
