Pretty sad. Don't know what he had in his life to be suicidal about. He's a classic figure, with so many great films...

Terrible news. Not that it matters, but anyone know what his religion was, if any? He almost always played kung fu and martial artist type roles, but no indication if was in any way interested in Eastern religions. The wikipedia page on him does not say, but mentions:
Carradine produced and starred in several exercise videos teaching the martial arts of Tai chi and Qi Gong. Carradine actually had no knowledge of martial arts prior to starring in the series Kung Fu, but developed an interest in it after this experience and became an avid practitioner.
He was in Bangkok, too bad he just didn't ordain and try and figure something out, with his problems.

I don't believe yet it's a suicide, wait for the investigation.

I thought that too, but the police said there was no sign of an assault. Also, he was old, and demographically, old people tend to be at much higher risk for suicide than the average population...

Okay, I didn't hear about that... Yes, this definitely sounds suspicious.

It emerged he may have died after he attempted an erotic asphyxiation act when he wrapped a cord around his neck.

...

The actor was discovered with a cord around his neck and other parts of his naked body, said cops.

A police officer said: "A rope was attached to his neck and also to his penis".

His personal manager Chuck Binder described the hanging as "accidental".

Very strange.

His character in the Kung Fu series helped spread the Dhamma in the West a lot I heard.
