My question is aimed at people living in the EU but other people from outside are free to join in

The recent european union elections have made me realize how unified europe is becoming. Do you think europe should become more unified and maybe even become one state?

I think it would be good for my country since the portuguese politicians in charge and the ones in position to be in charge in the future are a bunch of zeros. Let Europe administrate us

I feel the same about the ones running my country and the ones posed to take over

Some people want to move that way, some don't.

The French manifested they don't want to go that way, when they voted against the Lisbon Treaty.

I think that if we all have more in common, there will be less changes of another war in Europe.

I think it would be best as an evolutionary process... if/when it seems natural to do so then it should be done. Some people can be rather patriotic, and aren't going to be well pleased with such a notion, particularly if it's perceived as resulting in a loss of autonomy.

Until that time there's still economic benefits being derived from the establishment and functioning of an EU (I guess that makes sense since it was originally the European Economic Union).

I think the concepts of nation and nation/state group are archaic and do more damage than good at this point in our development. Over time we've moved from isolated beings, to clans, to tribes, to villages, to counties/provinces, to states, to groups of states...the next move/perspective/zeitgeist is to recognize that we are one people on a tiny clump of molten rock, water, soil, and air flying through space at 65,000 miles an hour - always a blink of an eye away from catastrophe. Our greatest collective bond should be the understanding that all of life on this planet is in danger. The awareness that all life on Planet Earth is threatened is more important than national identity or nation/state identity, and will have more of a positive influence on regional relations than national or nation/state group identities working in their own interests.
