I made a merit to my self

Post by Caraka »

A couple of days ago, I was enjoying sensual pleasures, which we all do from time to time. At least before you have seen the inversion in pleasure, and are able to unroot it.

Some time after this I was at unease, and started meditated for a while. Then suddenly an awareness come to me, and I could with mind see my mind and the cause of unease. A calm come to me.

I call this generosity, a merit, to my self.

There is only one problem. Anyone who see it?

Hello caraka,

I would probably view it as a small insight.

I was actual a big insight for me. Cause this was not an intellectual insight, this was knowing, dhamma.

Greetings Caraka,

Are you familiar with the Buddha's instructions in the Satipatthana Sutta?

You may find this of interest. In particularly the 3rd and 4th "frames of references" relating to (3) state of mind, and (4) experiences respectively.

Metta,
Retro. :)
