How long should I meditate to find inner guidance?

How long should I meditate to find inner guidance?

Interestingly, I am editing a friend's instructions on commencing a meditation practice.
Its not ready so I will not offer that particular document yet.
Have a look at some of the pinned resources in the meditation forum and also in the introductory resources in the Discovering Theravada Forum.
