The question i have. Did Buddha remember past lifes ? If so which suthra does he talk about them?

Of course He did. It's part of the many supernormal powers that He possessed, also called the Direct Knowledges (abhinna) as described in MN 12 ( http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka ... .ntbb.html )..

Is it true the buddha was once born as animals too? :jawdrop:

It'd be an impossible probability for any of us (including our great Buddha) to not have wandering across any of the 6 realms during this beginningless journey of samsara..

That's why it's extremely fortunate for those who're able to hear, learn, and practice the precious Dhamma in their life time so that they'd know what to do to avoid being reborn into states of woe and to head toward final liberation..
