Ayubowan from Sri Lanka

Post by buwaneka »

Ayubowan,

Ayubowan is how Sri Lankans greet, it means, long life! :) My name is Buwaneka Saranga, from Sri Lanka, I'm a Theravada Buddhist from birth. Recently my interests in the Dhamma sparked like never before, and I started out by reading Narada Thero's book, "The Buddha and his Teachings", by thorough analysis, I came to the conclusion that Buddhism is where reality is; by reality I meant truth! Formerly I studied science for my advanced levels, and I've been a keen scientific person. But, now I believe that the Dhamma has something much more than science to offer, in a truly realistic perspective. I have come here to learn more, and discuss with other fellow members.
Thoughts are the thinkers themselves.

Welcome! I look forward to your contributions!
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Ko-ho-mah-dhah?

I am English speaking, but I go to a local Buddhist temple where everyone mostly speaks Sinhala! I have been trying to learn a little Sinhala but it is almost imposible for me! :jumping:

Good luck here on Dhamma Wheel වෙල්චොමේ :-) (Is that right?)
May the triple gem bless bless you, may you quickly realize the 4 noble truths in this Gautama Buddhas dispensation... Sādhu! Sādhu! Sādhu!

Welcome Buwaneka!

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

:hello: Heeyyy! Mama, hodin innawa, oyata kohomada? Where are you living? In Sri Lanka? Sinhala seems to be a bit difficult, but I don't think it's hard. :) Nice to meet you at Dhamma Wheel, Thanks.
