Thanks! I wonder who that elderly couple are, and why they have an enormous inflatable cake on their snowy lawn?
I actually forgot it was my birthday until at breakfast someone wished me a happy birthday.
Hopefully this will be my last birthday outside a monastery for a long time!

Happy birthday
Never heard they celebrate it, also never heard they don't.
Now I'm wondering how a birthday inside a monastery would beJames the Giant wrote:Hopefully this will be my last birthday outside a monastery for a long time!

To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

James - Let's save the cake I gave for a rainy day, and eat the one Khalil Bodhi gave.

Happy Birthday James!
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
