Forums on Buddhism in other languages

Post by Hanzze »

I thought it is useful to open a topic (if it already exists, I could not find) to connect the Buddhist fellowship as well as possible. Forgive me and mybe it is possible to move it there.

German forums:

Buddhaland
Well visited forum and from the frequenzy maybe compareable with DW. Most moderators are from a Zen sphere. Moderators are very liberal and compassionated to all user and a it is a perfect place (as there is less ruling) to use a forum not only to gain information but for mindfulness on intention and right speech. A place where all kinds of traditions are present.
Languages beside of german are sadly not wanted.

Buddhistisches Forum - Satinanda
A small but well maintained forum mainly used from user with much convidence in the Theravada tradition, but also open and wellcome to other traditions. English language is wellcome as well and there is also a english section.
I saw that they have some problems with automatical registation, so its needed to send an short email after registation (please activate my account...) with reference to the new added username to this adress: forum_1[at]satinanda.de

Das Buddhismus Forum
A big forum for all traditions which seems to have lost its visitors some times ago but still in function.

Buddhismus in Deutschland DBU on facebook
The German Buddhist Union (DBU Web: http://www.buddhismus-deutschland.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) had a forum but out of technical problem (as they write) the old forum which was found under dharma.de is not avaliable. But there is a invitation to use their facebook side for discussion.

Dhamma-Vinaya Journal
Maybe not as fast as a normal forum but a good place for questions and answers in a little different kind. The Moderators take much care of good quality and accordiance to the Theravada Tradition in their replays.

Just that! *smile*
...We Buddhists must find the courage to leave our temples and enter the temples of human experience, temples that are filled with suffering. If we listen to Buddha, Christ, or Gandhi, we can do nothing else. The refugee camps, the prisons, the ghettos, and the battlefields will become our temples. We have so much work to do. ... Peace is Possible! Step by Step. - Samtach Preah Maha Ghosananda "Step by Step" http://www.ghosananda.org/bio_book.html

BUT! it is important to become a real Buddhist first. Like Punna did: Punna Sutta Nate sante baram sokham _()_
