Wich Nikaya you prefer and why ?

Post by DAWN »

I would like to ask you, what is the book of Tipitaka that you prefer for your practice, for your studiyes, that lead you, that inspirate you, that you quote eften etc

Digha Nikaya
Majjhima Nikaya
Samyutta Nikaya
Anguttara Nikaya
Khuddaka Nikāya

?

As me concern, i read only 16 Vaggas of SN, so automaticly is SN. Also, with their verses, SN 1-2, Devatasamyutta et Devaputasamyutta, seems to me very inspirated, with their discription of the Arahants, those who practice well etc.
But DN and MN are alrady waiting for me. So perhaps i will change my opinion.

And you?

PS I would like to make a topik with whool Tipitaka, but i can make a poll only with 10 options.

I'll reply with a Zen story:

When Banzan was walking through a market he overheard a conversation between a butcher and his customer.
"Give me the best piece of meat you have," said the customer.
"Everything in my shop is the best," replied the butcher. "You cannot find here any piece of meat that is not the best."
At these words Banzan became enlightened.
