In my opinion, filming it in Australia with extra gimmicks wouldn't make it any less boring now that Matt Smith is playing the Doctor.

I remember reading a Doctor Who producer saying they'd love to come down under, but it would never happen while the Aussie dollar was so powerful, thus making it insanely expensive to make films here at the moment.
