I'm Kage in Virginia and I'm glad to know you. Is there anyone else here from the mid-Atlantic?
I have been a late-night occasional lurker and decided to step into the light. I think I had to renew at least once due to non-activity.
Not really a new agey kind of guy, but maybe like you, I am just another human being looking for inner peace in this great big world. 30s - my adult adolescence as AskMen puts it - single again. Yeah.
I've had a .pdf in my documents forever and will tackle tonight, "The Buddhic Essence" by Elizabeth Clare Prophet. Also dusting off a few others. Send any cool links my way, I will get to them!
Especially charts/graphics, ways to help bring ideas together...
My intent for this fall is to complete a long time goal, which is to visit a local temple which observes (if that is proper terminology) "Pure Land" form and sit-in, and LISTEN. This particular group has been in the press for problems related to "Zoning" of a religious place... without getting into it, the matter was resolved, but it really disturbed me that someone had to go and mess with these folks.
I recently completed my M.A. and within, a general Buddhism course which I considered particularly interesting. I leapt at the chance to add it to my degree program. Never have been particularly good at history, but this held my interest. The detail and revelations are fascinating.
everyone. Thanks in advance for helping me reacquaint myself and drop a line anytime esp. if you're in the coastal area.
