Blog hosting sites

Post by Cittasanto »

I have recently decided to move my blog somewhere else, the site I am currently using has good features but it somewhat of a bother for a few reasons, and I am wanting to dedicate more to certain topics.

any suggestions of a good site that also allows photos, videos and documents to be loaded up, dedicated tabs, and comments from non-members?
Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

If you don't mind paying a little bit for it, you can register your own domain name (manapa.com?) and set up your own blog on any of the commercial web hosts. That's what I did and it is costing me, from memory, around $40 per year for domain registration and about $10 per year for the hosting (I got an 'introductory special' from a newish company  ). You can install your own software (I use WordPress, which is free) and do what you like ...

Any 'free' hosting probably has downsides simply because the people offering it want to give as little as they can and get as much as they can. That's life, I'm afraid, although sometimes you can be lucky.

I chose weebly http://cittasanto.weebly.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and got it sorted with everything I want on it!
Cant add videos or audio there though :( but nothing major!

Any feedback is welcome.

Have you looked into http://www.tumblr.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;? You should be able to embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo and audio files from soundcloud etc.
Let it come. Let it be. Let it go.

Hi,
I started a site dedicated to what I like recipes, photography walking... called Cittasantos humanities and I am confused as to why the hell it is getting more views than the Dhamma site, as an example when I checked the today it was 17 for cittasanto, and 30 visits for Cittasantos Humanities so far, what the hell is happening????

Hi All,
just updated two of the pages to a content style rather than a blog style, what are your thoughts, works, doesn't work?
the two styles of the meditation page New & original

New versions are a great improvement on the old - much easier to see what's there and the relationships between one item and the next.
