Greetings from Brazil

Post by vitor-n »

Hi fellow Dhammawheel friends! My name is Vitor and I've been interested in Buddhism since I was 15 years old - now I'm 21; I find it very difficult to meet anyone fond of and willing to discuss and practice Buddhism here, for most of the population in the area I live come from a Christian background (I myself was educated as a Christian, but I left Christianism by the time I was 13). Despite feeling lonely and even miserable in my late teens because I could not fit in any group associated with spirituality that were active here, I didn't give up.

Now I hope to learn from you, friends, and also to share my experiences and thoughts.

Welcome Vitor!
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Olá Vitor!

I hope this community serves you well. Feel free to post questions or topics, and feel free to send me a PM if you'd like.

May the Triple Gem bless you!
Gain and loss, status and disgrace,
censure and praise, pleasure and pain:
these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.

Knowing this, the wise person, mindful,
ponders these changing conditions.
Desirable things don’t charm the mind,
undesirable ones bring no resistance.

His welcoming and rebelling are scattered,
gone to their end,
do not exist.
- Lokavipatti Sutta

Stuff I write about things.

Welcome Vitor!

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
