What is the experience of a kalapa?

I'm going on a Goenka retreat, and I have noticed that Goenka talks a lot about kalapas, which he equates with subatomic particles. I would like to know, on an experiential/phenomenological level, what experience a kalapa refers to.

If a kalapa is something that can be experienced on an experiential level, then what could anyone possible say that could enable you to experience it? Any pre-conceptions regarding what might be experienced would be entirely counter-productive. Just observe, and pay carefully attention to whatever phenomena you happen to notice to observe them as they really are.

Its more important to know and understand kilesas than it is to understand kalapas.

It is part of the mode of exposition in Goenka practice, but you can just stick to vedana (feeling/sensation) without interpreting the vedana as such.

Read this, a origin source of kalāpa meditation.

If your indriyas are strength, kalāpa meditation isn't important.

Else, visuddhimagga, and vimuttimagga have taught that meditation for develop first ñāṇa, nāmarūpaparicchedañāṇa.

So, if your meditation don't take a higher state, even though you develop it hard, you need to develop jhāna and kalapa meditation.
