Hello from Pennsylvania USA

Post by BuddhasBuddy »

Hi everyone,
Nice to found a forum that I can ask questions, being that I only read books & watch youtube... never had formal training in Buddhism or any Buddhist friends. Every temple near me is an hour or more away from my location. I do wish to get there soon to meet the Monks & Nuns and the people of the Sanga, and soak in the atmosphere.

The best in all you do,

BuddhasBuddy :reading:

Welcome friend! Feel free to post questions and new threads! I am available by PM too if you need.

Have a nice time!
Gain and loss, status and disgrace,
censure and praise, pleasure and pain:
these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.

Knowing this, the wise person, mindful,
ponders these changing conditions.
Desirable things don’t charm the mind,
undesirable ones bring no resistance.

His welcoming and rebelling are scattered,
gone to their end,
do not exist.

Welcome BuddhaBuddy!
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Welcome! I grew up in the Reading/Philadelphia area for 20 years before moving here to Texas.

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
