The complete book of Buddah's lists is something I have also found.

In the Buddha's Words by Bhikkhu Bodhi, which is really just sections of the Pali Cannon translated into english. Great place to start I think, then you can move on to what great Buddhists mind think about it.

For me, books alone weren't nearly as effective as books and audio. Check out this thread http://www.dhammawheel.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=860&p=10600&hilit=audiodharma#p10600 for links to popular audio download sites. I found that listening to dhamma talks related to what I was reading to be immensely helpful.
