Bhante, what do other monks think about December 21st-- do they take the possibility of some catastrophe seriously?

Hi Viscid,
Wouldn't have a clue...it's not a topic I've given much thought, one way or another, and just found the photo a bit humorous...haven't broached the subject with anyone...reading the news, whether it's one day, or the long haul, we're doomed anyway...
Be well...

I didn't even think of the Mayan nonsense when I saw the OP, but of this:

Then again, maybe I've been spending too much time recently smiting the unbelievers over at the other DW.

Just another beautiful sunny day in remote Tasmania.

I think Arthur C Clarke should have done a bit more research. There is no supreme being in Vajrayana.
Anyway, I think the idea's been co-opted by a couple of chinese spambots that have been flooding this forum of late.

Re: Friday...
What I do not really understand about us is this. We are so much worry about the end of the world, which is not certain.
But we do not worry about our certain death!
But we do not worry about our certain death!

Yes, it's very silly ... but it can be quite funny, so we might as well enjoy it. Here's more:SarathW wrote:What I do not really understand about us is this. We are so much worry about the end of the world, which is not certain.

Is death certain?.....or is it another wrong view?SarathW wrote:But we do not worry about our certain death!
How can one have death when one is never born?
Re: Friday...
The end of the world is nowhere in sight.
