I found this board via Dharmawheel.org and it seems that my tendency for Buddhism is going to rooted in the Theravada tradition. Anyone else on here near to where I am by any chance?
Thanks

Greetings from San Antonio!
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Welcome friend! Please do post topics if you have any questions. The whole "Discovering Theravada" forum is super helpful. Also ffeel free to PM me as well and I can at least point you in the direction of someone who knows something.

Gain and loss, status and disgrace,
censure and praise, pleasure and pain:
these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.
Knowing this, the wise person, mindful,
ponders these changing conditions.
Desirable things don’t charm the mind,
undesirable ones bring no resistance.
His welcoming and rebelling are scattered,
gone to their end,
do not exist.

I tried using Plano as the keyword but nothing came back. But there are 5 Theravada locations in Dallas if you're willing to drive a bit...
Welcome!

Re: Greetings from Plano, TX
I found some in the area, but I've only found two of them that have English language classes and one of those is Mahayana. I'm going to try to go one tonight since it's the only night they offer an English language class (http://www.watdallas.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). There is another one about 45 minutes from me that I want to visit next week because they are part of that relic tour that is going around.Tex wrote:Greetings, fellow Texan!
