Introduce yourself to others at Dhamma Wheel.

Hello everyone! My name is Rel and I'm from upstate new york (albany/saratoga area). I was raised in a jewish household and went to an all jewish school as a child. Pretty much everyone I knew was jewish my entire childhood. Something always felt wrong about my spirituality. Disconnected. The jewish people believe they are "the chosen ones". It is very difficult to convert into judaism. These factors of the jewish religion have been a huge turn off for me and in turn sent me on a journey to find my spirituality elsewhere. My journey has been long and painful but I have finally found peace of mind in buddhism taoism and islam. I am actually in the process of writing a book, a life story/journey, which will tie all religions together and gives an understanding of why they have/needed to seperate. To keep it short and simple, without the dark you wouldn't know the light. All that is happening in the world right now is not evil it is all part of the plan. Part of the ying yang. I have a lot to say but I won't go any further in this introduction page but am excited to share knowledge! Sharing knowledge is the only way to a better future! Peace love & light everyone

Me too. I went to a public, mixed school growing up, but went to an all Jewish high school in Jerusalem.
The jewish people believe they are "the chosen ones"
Chosen for suffering.

Greetings Rel,
Welcome to Dhamma Wheel.

Metta,
Retro.

If you have asked me of the origination of unease, then I shall explain it to you in accordance with my understanding:
Whatever various forms of unease there are in the world, They originate founded in encumbering accumulation. (Pārāyanavagga)'We should not congratulate someone on the success of their misdeeds, but on the contrary should endeavour to advise him or her to lead a more skilful and wholesome life. If such advice is ignored then we can only give up and let go' - Phra PanyapatipoDharma Wheel (Mahayana / Vajrayana forum)
