eSangha all over again...

Post by Beautiful Breath »

Nice to see that the old eSangha forum attitudes are alive and well in The Dharma Wheel Forum. After challenging the disgusting behavior of some of the members and a manifest intolerant attitude to others beliefs, two things happened. First of all they deleted my post, then after complaining to a Moderator (some Greek sounding bloke) they have banned me. Deja Vu... :)

If they're incapable of participating in a mature debate then why have a forum?

What the moderators are, are a disgrace to the faith that they purport to represent. I only go in to have a look around.

I am apparently allowed back into the forum on Tuesday when I will swiftly be cancelling my membership.

Now I know why I shy away from all that Tibetan stuff....

Greetings BB,

Send a pm with your experiences and concerns to David N. Snyder, owner of both Dhamma Wheel and Dharma Wheel.
You can be sure that he will investigate your complaint seriously and objectively.
kind regards,

Ben

Ummmmm .... I don't want to be unfair and I don't want to sound unsympathetic but if the 'challenge' and deleted post matched the tone of the above then there may just possibly be a pot-kettle aspect to the situation.

I think David Snyder owns both fora. Rather than simply blowing off some steam, you may want to write to him and explain exactly what happened.

If you were treated unfairly, it is a good idea to appeal. Or if not, to get a better explanation why this action was taken.

What I know is that both forums adhere to their respective terms of service. As for the one here... you might wish to refamiliarise yourself with it, as technically you're in breach of it.
2. Do not be disruptive

Dhamma Wheel is an environment for the discussion of the Theravada. All are welcome but are required to abide by the TOS. Special forums have been created for special areas of interest so please respect these boundaries. Dhamma Wheel administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit inappropriate content, and to remove or transfer any posts or threads that are not relevant to the sub-forum in which they are posted. Any subject matter that may be off-topic or is intended only to cause disruption or harm to others may be removed without notice. This includes the badmouthing of other Buddhist discussion forums, trolling, meta-discussion (i.e. discussion about discussion), unsubstantiated allegations against members, solicitation of funds and proselytizing.

it's the internet.
Just keep breathing in and out like this. Don't be interested in anything else. It doesn't matter even if someone is standing on their head with their ass in the air. Don't pay it any attention. Just stay with the in-breath and the out-breath. Concentrate your awareness on the breath. Just keep doing it. http://www.ajahnchah.org/book/Just_Do_It_1_2.php

Just reread the TOS. From what I can see, mostly members follow them. But yes doesn't hurt to review them carefully and ensure that we understand all the possible implications.

In peace and metta
