keyboard/malfunction

Post by manas »

Hi/fellow/members
the/keyboard/of/this/darn/apple/computer/just/broke
i/can/now/no/longer/type/spaces/as/the/space/bar/key/doesnt/work/at/all
to/be/honest/i/had/problems/with/it/from/the/start/with/certain/keys/jamming/or/not/coming/up/properly
i/have/some/advice/it/is:/place/any/cup/of/tea/on/a/level/higher/than/your/keyboard/is/at
or/this/could/also/happen/to/you
if/my/old/pc/keyboards/lying/in/a/box/somewhere/are/not/compatible/i/will/have/to/buy/a/new/keyboard/methinks

my/initial/reaction/(internally)/was/like/this :computerproblem:
then/i/remembered:/equanimity... :meditate:
computer/keyboards/are/fabricated/after/all
and/all/fabricated/things/are/liable/to/decay
verily/all/things/subject/to/arising/are/also/subject/to/passing/away
so/to/get/this/reminder/means/that/something/good/came/out/of/the/event
but/now/i/really/do/have/to/get/a/new/keyboard/dammit
and/organise/my/desk/so/that/drinks/never/again/find/their/way/into/the/keyboard!

:coffee:
(just joking!!!)

You may be able to resurrect your keyboard by popping the affected key/s off and giving it a clean-up. I know you could do that with the old ones but the new ones like http://store.apple.com/au/product/MB110 ... A4Mzc4ODA# apparently can't be disassembled.
HOWEVER, you could try washing it - as per http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/ind ... 12230.html.
:jawdrop:
At your own risk, of course.

but/anything/is/worth/a/try/cos/otherwise/its/headed/for/the/garbage/anyway

Hi, Manas,
With old keyboards, as in the pics above, yes - they are just clipped in. "New" keyboards (aluminium frame, low-profile keys) don't come apart ... return to previous post and read through the links.

http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/u ... a-mac.html may be another solution.
