Reading up on the eightfold path

Post by Feathers »

Hi! I'm looking for recommendations for reading about the noble eightfold path. I realised this morning I've been reading loads about meditation, nimittas, jhanas and all sorts of random stuff but can't actually say off the top of my head what all eight bits of the path are :embarassed:
I'd like something that starts off simply and that explains what the Buddha taught as well as the author's perspective.

Anyone read this? Would you recommend it? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Noble-Eightfold ... tfold+path

Any other recommendations?

Hi Feathers,

Bhikkhu Bodhi's book is great, and is also available here: http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/auth ... toend.html

I'd recommend this and this.
"Sabbe dhamma nalam abhinivesaya" (AN 7.58).

leaves in the forest (non-Buddhist related blog)
